| Busy summer which started with a walk across England following Hadrians Wall and continued with a couple of months of hot,dry weather in Austevoll. Hadrian's Wall was the northern most border of the Roman Empire. It was orderd built by Hadrian when it became apparent that the unbeatable Roman army had finally reached the limits of what was possible to control. Two thousand years later, Ruth, Krister, Peter and I went to see what was left.
Sailing is important. Sailing is summer. Austevoll and sailing are a great combination - especially when the weather gives us days like this.....
Otherwise.... summer was a mix of lazy, hot days and all the things that sun and countryside can produce. Plenty of grass to cut, gravel road to fix, kites to fly, arrows to shoot, motorcycles to tune, music, riding.... The rain held off until the start of school. The first drops began falling as the kids met their fate by the flagpole and were marched off for a year of wisdom. Since then, it has rained more or less non-stop. At present, 70 days in a row and counting - which is a new record. That is what I call timing..... |
